S03: It’s OPEN TARP DOOR guys~

Tyener meets a friend, Kiya fails at anagrams, firebolt comes in useful again.

During downtime, Kia meets a wizard to learn Detect Magic and Identify.

Tyener gets a note from Olfgar Wormwood, who he’d helped in his travels. We meet him and he explains that he was a member of the Crimson Company, 20 years ago based out of Westbridge. Among them was a wizard named Amelia Greyheart who left the group after it disbanded, came to Neverwinter, and went adventuring. She set out to explore the ruins of a Wizard’s tower and never returned. He wants us to go explore the ruins and bring back her remains, if possible, for him to bury.

  • Ruins: even 20 years ago, it was rumored to be the home of a mad sorcerer and tinkerer that locked himself away.
  • He’s offering 200gp reward with 50gp in advance
  • Amelia: Human, 20’s, dark hair. Unique wand – carved wood with flowers. Cast fireball a lot.

The tower is a day’s travel outside the city. Olfar tells us where he is staying and gives us a map to the tower.

We arrive at a lonely stone tower overlooking the sea, upper parts eroded. There is a statue inside which looks demonic and feels somewhat uncomfortable and evil to Tyener, and a tablet that says “Patron Ore Pod”

Kiya tries pressing “Trapdoor Nope” then “Trapdoor Open”. The statue wakes up and says, “wrong.” It attacks us.

We destroy the creature and try a few more combinations: OPEN TARP DOOR, etc. We finally try, “OPEN TRAP DOOR” and a trap door opens. We descend, and see a cobwebby staircase that Kiya clears with Firebolt. At the base of the stairs, there is a hallway with a dead spider over the corpse of a half elf thief. +30g from pouch.

Next room: Some sitting chairs and the walls covered in eyes. We go down a hallway and reveal a room with a halfling corpse in a scrying pool, as well as a water elemental that we kill. We get a waterlogged purse containing 30s and a moonstone. We rest to regain spell slots and hit points.

We’re covered in corpse water from the well. Learn prestidigitation.
